Choosing the right property
It is essential to consider your objectives and pension requirements when selecting property for your pension portfolio. Some property will generate more regular income but will offer little prospects for impressive capital growth. Where as other property will offer impressive capital growth but not much regular income. For example, if your retirement is many decades away, you may consider purchasing a property with a regulated tenancy. This will produce a low income but will lead to significant future capital gain. However, if you are approaching retirement then a purely income generating portfolio may be more attractive. For those people with many years to go to retirement, a balance of income generation and capital growth approaches will deliver maximum total return.
